About The Position

The Backup Sheeter Operator is responsible for efficiently operating the sheeter to produce sheets which are uniform and press ready

Requirements

  • Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
  • Ability to effectively work in teams
  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
  • Must have good color perception
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines
  • Be aware of responsibilities and accountability as clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems
  • Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, stock specifications, special work instructions, and any other special requirements
  • Review the schedule and produce sheets in accordance with the requirements indicated on the schedule
  • Set up the sheeter and keep it running properly
  • Monitor sheeter throughout the run to maintain sheet uniformity and sheet quality in relation to meeting press ready requirements
  • Responsible for weekly preventive maintenance
  • Responsible for sheeter operation and being qualified to operate auxiliary equipment
  • Must be qualified to operate lift truck equipment
  • Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
  • Accurately enter information into the computer system
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
  • Play an active role in the maintenance and housekeeping of the assigned to the sheeter and surrounding work area
  • Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
  • Assist with overtime and vacation coverage in pressroom

  • Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
