Requirements

  • Understand how to measure duct to be fabricated, and work skillfully with tools, metals and machines.
  • Visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints.
  • Be able to work within precise limits and standards and perform a variety of duties that often change.
  • Be able to record and monitor duct cleanliness, production, and quality.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or appropriate journeyman experience.
  • Good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work with Planning calendars.
  • This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned tradesmen.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, and job orders as needed for area of supervision.
  • Direct installation of duct and equipment at the job site.
  • Order material, equipment, and tools as needed to maintain efficient use of labor resources.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
  • Study schedules and estimate man-hour requirements for completion of job.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems.
  • Maintain time records.
