About The Position

This role provides leadership and governance across Environmental, Safety, Health, Process Safety, and Quality for a manufacturing site. The SHEQ Manager serves as a key member of the site leadership team, ensuring regulatory compliance, management system integrity, and risk-based decision-making while leading a small multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety, or a related technical discipline; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Environmental, Process Safety, Safety, and/or Quality roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong expertise in Environmental compliance, including permitting, inspections, regulatory reporting, and direct engagement with regulatory agencies.
  • Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and OSHA regulatory frameworks, with the ability to apply requirements in complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Experience owning or supporting Quality Management Systems, including ISO standards, audits, and corrective action governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a credible, trusted representative with regulators and external stakeholders.
  • Calm, methodical decision-maker with sound judgment and strong risk awareness.
  • Collaborative leader capable of working effectively in a lean, team-oriented manufacturing site.

  • Exposure to laboratory oversight, testing environments, or customer quality audits preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own site Environmental compliance, including permits, regulatory reporting, inspections, testing, and agency submissions.
  • Serve as the primary regulatory interface with federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance and regulatory readiness for the site.
  • Own the Quality Management System, including ISO compliance, audit readiness, and customer quality issue escalation.
  • Provide leadership oversight for laboratory operations and quality governance.
  • Provide governance and leadership for site safety programs, ensuring regulatory changes are identified and implemented.
  • Oversee Occupational Health services, including contractor nurse management.
  • Lead site security programs and serve as a trained site spokesperson during emergencies when required.
  • Lead and develop a small, multidisciplinary team (Safety Specialist, Lab Supervisor, contractor nurse).
  • Act as a key member of the site leadership team, contributing to operational decisions, contractor strategy, audits, and risk management initiatives.
