About The Position

American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450+ employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the 2nd Shift Shavings Operator role at our Lebanon, KY facility. Job Description The Shavings Operator will be responsible for maintaining productivity at the shavers in a safe and efficient manner. Wood Shavings Production Collaborate closely with fellow shaver operators and the lead operator to meet daily production targets. Maintain optimal performance of shaver equipment by: Keeping shaver boxes full. Monitoring equipment functionality. Efficiently managing log movement within the yard. Monitor and ensure the quality of wood shavings produced. Adhere strictly to all plant safety protocols and procedures. Work effectively in varying weather conditions. Heavy Equipment Operation Safely operate industrial equipment including: Articulated wheel loader Knuckle boom Skid steer Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including regular greasing and cleaning. Coordinate with truck drivers to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow in and out of the plant. Manage the movement and placement of logs throughout the yard, ensuring safe operation around personnel and other machinery. Remain vigilant and responsive to safety concerns in all weather conditions. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50 pounds or more. Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions. Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory and provided.
