About The Position

The Secretary of Global Impact is responsible for coordinating the Community Impact Board as outlined in the most updated version of the Student Government Association bylaws.

Requirements

  • Must be elected by the student body in the spring semester prior to their served term.
  • Must be of sophomore standing or higher at the time in which the position is assumed.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Must not be found in violation of any St. Olaf policies.

Responsibilities

  • Co-Chair the Community Impact Board, which includes facilitating meetings, supporting team members, and performing other applicable tasks.
  • Coordinate the operation of the Board to fulfill the organization’s mission under SGA, namely to provide regular, nonpartisan programming that promotes global awareness and activity.
  • In collaboration with the Financial Officer, administer SGA allocation monies assigned to the budget in accordance with the SGA Constitution, the Bylaws, and all other SGA financial guidelines.
  • Recruit and select a team through an application and interview process.
  • Assist in training the incoming SGA Secretary of Global Impact in collaboration with the incoming SGA President and Vice President, including completing a transition report.
  • Attend SGA Executive Team and Programming meetings as well as additional meetings as requested (Senate, etc.)
  • Maintain three weekly office hours in the Office of Student Activities (BC 108)
