About The Position

Responsible for providing training to sewing operator trainees, in accordance with NSA and TSS guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 3 years in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Program should produce operators NO LESS than 80% after 12 weeks after transferred from the sewing school
  • Help educate ALL current sewing operators and supervisors on product/design changes
  • Should look for opportunities to improve efficiencies of lesser teams
  • Refer to and follow the TSS Training Guidelines for the first two weeks of training.
  • Train sewing operators trainees to work in specific zones and follow single piece flow.
  • Train sewing operator trainees, within designated zones, to produce specified product to required specifications using proper methods; i.e., gauging or other tools.
  • Train sewing operator trainees to maintain equipment as required.
  • Make sure sewing operator trainees utilize equipment safely and utilize methods to insure safe operation.
  • Help sewing operator trainees to properly set equipment to specific requirements.
  • Maintain any required documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Make sure sewing operator trainees adhere to company quality standards and procedures.
  • Make sure Sewing Operator trainees know how to use the light system to alert support personnel of machine difficulties, supply needs, etc.
  • Teach sewing operator trainees to work in courteous cooperation with other cluster team members.
  • Teach the “bumping” technique as appropriate within the cluster to reduce process bottlenecks.
  • Works as a team to accomplish production and manufacturing goals
  • Other duties as assigned
