Requirements

• Makes articulate, effective presentations to a variety of audiences using visual aids, slide shows, and other media.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous commercial sewing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the sewing of materials used in the production of durable medical products as well as consumer products by mounting attachments for single needle sewing machines such as needles, cutting blades, or pattern plates, and adjusting machine guides according to specifications; activating and adjusting machine controls to regulate stitching speed and length, dimensions of gathers and tucks, and material or thread tension; positions and marks patterns on materials to prepare for sewing; cutting material or excess material, according to specifications, from finished product using blade, scissors; completing daily production documentation.
• Ensures the efficiency and quality of the sewing process by performing regular setup and maintenance; monitoring machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunction; examining and measuring finished articles to verify conformance to standards; adhering to ISO and FDA regulations.
• Maintains a safe working environment by attending safety training; turning off and locking out equipment not in use; cleaning and maintaining a clean work area.
