The incumbent will operate industrial sewing machines to sew fabric and materials for various products, ensuring high-quality standards and efficient production processes. Check all safety devices, assuring they are in place and in working order prior to operating the machine. Prior to sewing, may inspect and repair any operations incorrectly done, including unacceptable stitches on materials provided to you. Thread machine and change bobbin as needed based on capability. Operate various automatic machines which may include: One-Step Automatic Machines (labels, flushing, snaps, grommets, bag sealing) Bartack operations (with jigs) Serger operations (with jigs) Single needle operations (with jigs) Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines to stitch fabric, leather, and other materials according to specifications. May inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet quality control standards. Follow work orders and instructions for specific sewing projects, ensuring accuracy and precision in stitching. May troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform basic maintenance to keep machines running smoothly. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the proper handling and storage of materials and tools. Ensure timely completion of tasks while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to meet production goals. Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies while operating machinery. Keep accurate records of production progress, materials used, and any issues encountered during the sewing process.
