About The Position

Your role as a Sewer CCTV Operator - Crossbore involves operating closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspection equipment and robotic systems to assess sewer collection system. You will be responsible for capturing detailed video footage, generating accurate condition reports, and entering inspection data into a GIS database while ensuring consistency, quality, and accuracy. As the crew lead, you will also oversee daily field operations, coordinate with team members to ensure project timelines and safety protocols are met, and support efforts to identify and prevent crossbore risks within sewer and stormwater infrastructure. This position reports directly to the Field Operations Manager and plays a critical role in the integrity and safety of underground utility systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 months experience as a CCTV Operator
  • Possess a DOT Medical Certification or ability to obtain one
  • Ability to pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug screen required as a condition of employment
  • 50+ hours weekly
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, bend, kneel and lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to travel 2 to 3 weeks at a time as needed, work weekends and work some nights as travel could be up to 80% of time based on project locations.
  • Ability to possess or obtain NASSCO and PACP and Confined Space Training certifications
  • Proficient using computers to utilize inspection software, ArcGIS Online maps, Excel, Word, and email
  • Because all field personnel may be required to operate company or DOT-regulated vehicles at any time, maintaining driver eligibility is mandatory. A valid driver’s license and obtaining a medical clearance to drive DOT-regulated vehicles (DOT Medical Certification) is considered an essential function of employment in field operations. Employees must obtain this medical certification within 90 days of hire and maintain it as a condition of continued employment. Failure to obtain or maintain driver eligibility or medical clearance may affect employment status and/or eligibility for certain job assignments, unless given a Human Resources accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily safety talks and ensures the safety of the crew
  • Manage site maintenance of traffic as appropriate for the location / Follow traffic control protocol
  • Lead team in launch inspection and retrieval of robotic camera equipment in sewer pipeline systems for municipal customers.
  • Oversee technicians in daily work while running camera system / advise on proper procedures
  • Repair and maintain the CCTV camera unit including but not limited to communicating with software vendors for program updates; trouble shoot existing equipment and perform routine camera maintenance
  • Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on a digital or PDF map
  • Daily reporting and uploading of data findings to company software
  • Accurately complete utility inspections using approved procedures (as trained by the Company)
  • Proficient using simple hand tools and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic equipment
  • Work in all weather conditions / freely access outdoor worksites in wide-ranging locations
  • Proficient at using current technology; smartphone, tablet
  • Team player with the ability to meet deadlines, production goals and team objectives
  • Strong communication skills with other employees, clients and the public
