About The Position

This position is for a Set Up Technician located in Franklin Park, IL, responsible for performing minor and major changeovers on production floor equipment, making repairs, and assisting with maintenance tasks to ensure production readiness and efficiency.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalency preferred.
  • Completion of Set Up Technician sr. specialist training or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and off shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Minor and Major Changeovers on production floor for the Lyle Thermoforming and OMG equipment
  • Removes and loads inserts in the mold offline in the tool shop and also online
  • Record accurate records of change over events each day and work with Quality and Supervision to release lines for production
  • Performs basic extrusion operator tasks to assist on inline changeovers and process issues
  • Make repairs on forming molds and trim tools to allow consistent flow of production
  • Perform general maintenance on thermoforming and labeling automation equipment
  • Assist the maintenance associates on troubleshooting and solutions to bring production lines back up
  • Makes adjustments and notifies Maint. Manager of the need for more complex machine adjustments to make the thermoformer production ready.
  • When necessary, will perform the same duties as other production employees and packers
  • Utilizes micrometers, calipers and other industrial measurement equipment for setups and maintenance tasks
  • Accurately read and operate machine’s computer console and assist in training operator associates on the controls
  • Responsible for the initial set-up and establishing first run parts that meet all quality dept. criteria. (Green Time)
  • Monitor overall continuing manufacturing process and assist with shortfalls on any line that is not hitting OEE requirements
  • Utilize the plants CMMS system to record work performed, labor hours, and parts checked out for breakdowns
  • Housekeeping daily
  • Demonstrate ability to work with limited supervision
  • Other duties may be assigned
