The Business Technology Team This role joins the Business Technology organization and plays a critical part in realizing our vision to accelerate the delivery of business outcomes across Okta by driving clarity, collaboration, and accountability in everything we do. The ServiceNow Platform Architect Opportunity We are looking for a ServiceNow Platform Architect to join our ServiceNow Platform Team. You will play a key role in building and enhancing our enterprise-wide ServiceNow platform, applying your expertise across multiple modules, including ITSM, SAM, HAM, ITOM, GRC, HRSD, CSM, and WSD. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for architectural design who wants to help us build scalable, secure, and high-performing technical solutions that drive business value.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years hands-on experience with ServiceNow development and administration at an enterprise level
  • Multiple ServiceNow certifications across various modules (e.g., Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer, Certified Implementation Specialist in SAM, HAM, HRSD, ITOM, CSM, etc.)
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale, complex ServiceNow solutions for enterprise organizations
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, GlideRecord, REST/SOAP APIs, UI Policies, Client Scripts, Business Rules, Workflows, Flow Designer, Service Portal development, Workspace/UI Builder, and other core ServiceNow development tools
  • Strong understanding of database design and optimization within the ServiceNow environment, coupled with expertise in data modeling, CMDB design, and platform data strategies
  • Skilled at analyzing and mapping complex business processes to technical solutions, while identifying opportunities for business process optimization
  • Must have a high focus on user experience with a propensity for incorporating modern design trends into solution design
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to large audiences and C-suite executives
  • This position requires the ability to access federal environments and/or have access to protected federal data. As a condition of employment for this position, the successful candidate must be able to submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status (e.g. a U.S. Citizen, National, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee. 22 CFR 120.15) upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop ServiceNow solutions and features, ensuring they align with our long-term architectural strategy
  • Implement and maintain the ServiceNow platform architecture by following best practices and leading a long-term, scalable approach
  • Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate business needs into technical requirements and architectural designs
  • Act as a platform guardian, ensuring configurations and customizations are upgrade-safe and minimize technical debt
  • Provide expert technical guidance and recommendations to stakeholders, development teams, and leadership on ServiceNow capabilities, limitations, and strategic opportunities
  • Architect integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using various integration methods (e.g., REST, SOAP, JDBC, MID Server)
  • Prioritize a long-term, scalable approach, minimizing customization by leveraging out-of-the-box capabilities and advocating for upgrade-safe architecture to reduce technical debt
