About The Position

A service writer is a professional who helps customers with their vehicle repair needs. They are responsible for greeting and updating clients on the types of services they offer and processing transactions upon completion. The ideal candidate will be someone with strong customer service skills and a great attitude. The service writer will be responsible for handling the transaction from the greeting of the customer, to recommending and ordering parts to handling the payment for the transaction.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work with computers and able to learn company software.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong record keeping skills.
  • The ability to understand and relate technical issues to the service team from customers' non-technical descriptions.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting customers
  • Finding out what the needs of the customer are, and solving their problem.
  • Relay all necessary information regarding costs, parts and work needed.
  • Know different kinds of parts sold and be able to give details to the customer.
  • Relaying the service order to the mechanics
  • Making sure the job gets done in a reasonable amount of time and notifying the customer when ready for pickup.
  • Handling cash and credit card payments
  • Keeping the front counter and lobby clean
  • Must be able available to work on Saturdays 8a-2p
