About The Position

The Service Writer works under close supervision of the Branch Parts and Service Manager and is responsible for preparing parts and service quotes. Essential Functions Provide service information to customers, schedule customer service needs, add segments to work orders containing job information Open quotes and completes all necessary paperwork for quote presentation to customer and CSS. Assist in the appraisal and quote process for equipment repair. Coordinate parts and labor requirements with Service Manager for work orders. Assist in scheduling shop assignments, field service work and delivery of equipment. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules and deadlines. Open and close work orders. Provide clerical assistance, including some correspondence and data entry. Develop positive customer relations by accurately communicating repair status and charges for equipment repairs. Greet service customers and answer calls to schedule service appointments. Advise customers of estimated service and repair costs. Review details of service/repair invoice to ensure customer understanding of services provided Communicate progress of repair/service orders Follow up with the customers on all quotes previously sent out.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in automotive/construction service administrator role.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Excel preferred.
  • Excellent customer service/communication skills required.

  • College or technical school certificate/degree preferred.
