Key Departmental Responsibilities Greets customers, assists them in selecting parts, answers questions, and provides advice. Sells parts to a variety of customers, including walk-in customers, shop customers, and those who call in orders. Processes orders, verifies payments, and prepares orders for pickup or delivery Assists with stocking inventory, ensuring parts are properly organized and readily available. May assist with maintaining a clean and organized work area, preparing and maintaining merchandise displays, and other tasks as needed. Possesses a basic understanding of automotive or other relevant industries and the parts they sell. Listening to customers' vehicle issues, asking questions, and understanding their requirements. Detail customers' information and service needs in a repair order, translating customer requests into instructions for technicians. Coordinating and managing service appointments and ensuring timely service delivery. Discussing customer needs and repair details with the service department and technicians. Keeping customers informed about the car's progress and communicating any additional work needed and associated costs. Billing clients and managing work transactions upon completion of service. Inputting and updating customer information in a computer database system. Ability to troubleshoot issues, find solutions, and assist customers with complex problems. Ability to organize the counter, manage inventory, and process orders efficiently. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift items up to 50 lbs., and move around the shop.
