About The Position

The Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining semi-trailers and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation. This role supports customers and internal teams by delivering timely, high-quality mechanical, electrical, and structural repairs, while maintaining accurate service documentation and upholding company standards for safety and workmanship Safety bonuses are available immediately. Productivity and efficiency bonuses begin after 90 days.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Demonstrated experience as a mechanical or service technician, preferably within the trailer, heavy equipment, or automotive industries.
Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to diagnose and repair issues across a range of trailer types and configurations.
Understanding of hydraulic systems, commonly used in dump trailers, tilt decks, and utility equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, service manuals, and parts schematics.
Detail-oriented and committed to quality workmanship.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Commitment to workplace safety.
Basic computer literacy.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods

Responsibilities

Inspect and diagnose trailer systems to identify mechanical, structural, suspension, brake, and electrical repair needs.
Perform service, repair, and replacement of trailer brake and suspension systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
Troubleshoot and repair 12VDC electrical systems, including lighting and wiring components.
Execute MIG welding and metal fabrication repairs to trailer frames and structural components as required.
Complete routine preventative maintenance and install trailer components or accessories as needed.
Accurately document work performed by completing service records, repair orders, and parts usage within company systems.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and operate shop tools and equipment in accordance with safety standards.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
