About The Position

The Service Technician will be responsible for independently managing weekly service routes and on-site support for portable sanitation units, office trailer rentals, and mobile surveillance trailers within the assigned Indiana territory. This role operates with limited direct supervision and reports to an existing out-of-state location for administrative, billing, and operational oversight. This position is ideal for a self-motivated individual who is comfortable working independently, managing time efficiently, and serving as the local face of the company.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic maintenance
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Comfortable operating service vehicles and equipment
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable standing, walking, and performing manual tasks regularly

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with portable sanitation, trailer maintenance, construction services, or field service work
  • Basic plumbing or electrical knowledge (light maintenance only)
  • Familiarity with route-based work or service operations

Responsibilities

  • Perform weekly service routes for portable sanitation units
  • Clean, sanitize, restock supplies, and ensure units meet company and regulatory standards
  • Identify and report damage, misuse, or required repairs
  • Maintain a professional appearance of all serviced units
  • Conduct light maintenance and routine inspections
  • Perform basic upkeep such as door adjustments, minor repairs, and cleanliness checks
  • Coordinate with management for any larger repair needs
  • Ensure trailers remain customer-ready and safe
  • Conduct routine visual inspections after deployment
  • Perform light maintenance as required
  • Verify functionality and overall condition
  • Report issues promptly to management
  • Operate independently while following company procedures
  • Maintain accurate service logs, inspection records, and basic reporting
  • Communicate regularly with the home branch regarding service status, issues, and customer needs
  • Represent the company professionally at all customer sites
  • Adhere to safety standards, DOT requirements (if applicable), and company policies
