About The Position

Will perform vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Receives repair orders from dispatcher and performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Verifies, diagnosis and estimates repair work to be performed. Examines vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required and advise service advisor. Documents work performed (input story in computer) and keep service advisor informed of status of vehicle. Responsible for completing all documentation to meet manufacture specifications. Road-tests vehicles when required and to quality check work performed. Supervises any apprentice technicians as assigned. Attends factory-sponsored training classes and keep abreast of manufacture updates and technical bulletins. Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean and returned in the condition received. Keeps shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership owned tools at all times. Communicates with the parts department to obtain needed parts. Saves and tags parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by customer. Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as disposal of hazardous waste and OSHA safety rules. Requires being at work on time and have satisfactory attendance. Any other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Individual must have basic computer knowledge, ability to work well with others, neat and clean, appearance, good math skills, general mechanical skills, positive attitude and be able to listen and follow directions.
  • Individual should perform duties with little or no supervision, read and comprehend instructions and information, be able to work weekends and overtime.
  • Individual should be honest, ethical, dependable and a team player.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent, two years of technical training or four or more years of related experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
