Requirements

  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver license and the ability to travel domestically and internationally, as well as pass backgrounds checks and drug test per FRA guidelines
  • High regard for safety
  • Elevated level of communication skills
  • Basic knowledge in the field of electrical and electronics
  • Ability to read and understand, Wiring diagrams, Blueprints, Industrial wiring, and control systems.
  • Use of multimeter and other testing devices to test for voltage and current, and continuity etc.
  • Use of hand tools and power tools
  • Basic Fabrication skills
  • Mechanical inclination and knowledge
  • Basic knowledge in the field of Information Technology
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic Networking

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year degree from a technical institute
  • Basic railroad infrastructure knowledge and/or experience
  • Second language (e.g. German, Spanish)
  • Electrical Design Experience
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical systems
  • Advanced mechanical knowledge
  • Experience with an oscilloscope

Responsibilities

  • Independent installation, maintenance, and inspection of digital monitoring technologies (electrical, electromechanical, and mechanical assemblies).
  • Error analysis and troubleshooting to provide immediate and long-term solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Provide direct customer support and maintain effective communication with the North American customer base.
  • Execution of trainings, installations, installation support, phone support/ troubleshooting,
  • Maintain detailed service reports and documentation of all work performed, including updates on system software, equipment, and functionality.
  • Capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in challenging field conditions
  • Frequent domestic and international travel required (e.g., USA, CAN, MEX)
  • Availability to work extended hours
