About The Position

We are looking for a dependable and detail‑oriented Service Technician / Warehouse Worker to join our Waukee team. This hybrid role combines hands‑on service and repair work—including tasks involving gas and electric components—with warehouse operations and inventory management. The position requires someone who can safely work indoors and outdoors in extreme weather conditions, interact professionally with customers and internal teams, and clearly explain services performed and safe equipment operation. The Service Technician / Warehouse Worker is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and servicing products, supporting installation work, and maintaining warehouse inventory and equipment. This role requires mechanical aptitude, comfort working with gas and electrical systems, and the ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members. The position operates in a fast‑paced environment and requires adherence to safety procedures, especially when working in hot or cold weather conditions.

Requirements

  • Experience in service, repair, construction, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Ability to work safely with gas and electric systems.
  • Strong communication and customer‑service skills, including explaining services and safe operation.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold.
  • Experience using basic hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physical tasks.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect products and troubleshoot issues, including work involving gas and electric system components.
  • Perform repairs and part replacements following all safety guidelines.
  • Read and follow installation and service instructions accurately.
  • Clearly explain repairs performed, safe product operation, and maintenance recommendations to customers.
  • Provide professional communication with both internal and external customers.
  • Collect payments on completed jobs when required.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Stock and re‑stock materials for efficient warehouse flow.
  • Conduct incoming material inspections and verify packing lists.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and tool upkeep.
  • Support safe material handling while working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Track and maintain inventory of tools and materials on service trucks and in the warehouse.
  • Report any equipment or tool maintenance needs promptly.
  • Keep service vehicles clean, organized, and stocked daily.
  • Complete repair documentation and daily DOT truck forms, and service notes.
  • Take and submit required job photos.
  • Prepare reports as requested by management.
  • Communicate with management about issues affecting operations or profitability.
  • Attend meetings and required training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain strong customer service and communication during all interactions.
