About The Position

The Shipping Department at Bendix in Huntington is tasked with ensuring timely delivery of shipments to customers. This role involves operating stand-up, sit-down and cherry picker forklifts while standing to efficiently prepare and oversee outgoing shipments, including accurate picking, packing, labeling, staging, and loading products onto delivery trucks. Additionally, the position requires the completion of all necessary paperwork and documentation, proper tracking of shipments, and confirmation of on-time deliveries. The job entails frequent stepping on and off forklifts throughout the shift in a fast-paced environment and regular lifting of parts. A cherry picker can reach heights of over 23 feet. Strong attention to detail is essential. Training will be provided for multiple stations, beginning with an initial observational day. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. The position is based at BDC (Bendix Distribution Center). Work hours: -1st Shift – Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm + overtime as required (currently hours are 5 AM - 3 PM) -2nd Shift – Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm, overtime as required (currently hours are 1 PM - 11 PM) Pay: We offer starting wage of $20.88, with increases every 3 months until hit top rate. Shift premium $1.00/hour for 2nd shift. Potential annual bonus up to $2000. Tools: Staple gun, utility knives, stand up forklifts, cherry picker forklifts, RF scanner computer/software, printers, banding machine, pallet jack, step ladder. Protective Personal Equipment: Eye protection (UPS areas), steel toe shoes, and anti-cut gloves. Environment: Climate-controlled, noisy environment with heavy forklift traffic, anti-fatigue mats ; collaborates with team mates to keep production on pace throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/ GED Required
  • Candidate must pass drug, background, and physical screenings at our onsite health center prior to starting
  • Steel-toe shoes required - we do reimburse up to $100/year
  • Good attendance and willingness to work overtime when needed are required.
  • Able to operate safely and effectively in an industrial setting.
  • Able to read, write, and understand instructions, communications, policies, and safety guidelines.
  • Able to do basic math calculations
  • Strong verbal and written communication required.
  • Able to reason, analyze, and troubleshoot job issues.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork skills, including the ability to collaboratively resolve issues and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Consistently meet production, safety and quality standards
  • Safely and effectively carry out all job duties.
  • Engage in a daily pre-work stretching program.
  • Willing to take on additional tasks as needed
  • Obtain and keep standup and cherry picker forklift certification and operate safely.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as outlined in work instructions.
  • Meet customer requirements, including shipping and packaging instructions.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 10 hours per day when working overtime
