About The Position

In business since 1966, we service Blue Bird Buses as well as Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit, Cummins, CAT, Eaton, Meritor, Allison and DT12 trucks.

Summary: Experienced mechanic. Performs diagnoses and troubleshooting of most vehicle issues with some supervision. Completes jobs within a given time frame and maintains a 75% return-free work record. Previously worked as an Apprentice-level technician, has at least 2 years of experience and holds at least 1 certification.

Requirements

• UTI/Lincoln Tech/Pennco Tech(or similar) Certification and a minimum of 2 years’ related experience, including work as an Apprentice-level technician.
• Experience and certifications may be substituted for formal program certification.
• Computerized diagnostic skills
• 21+ years' old (for auto insurance purposes) & able to lift 100 lbs.
• Valid/clean driver's license
• Willing/able to obtain certifications (Company paid training)

Nice To Haves

• Experience specific to above noted vehicles
• Certifications for any of the above noted vehicles
• DOT Medical Cert

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair & maintain diesel and gasoline engine industrial trucks and buses
• Document repairs using fleet maintenance software
• Conduct road tests as required or refer to test technician
• Participate in Company paid training and stay abreast of manufacturer-provided technical updates
• Maintain dealership-owned tools and manuals
• Comply with Federal, State & local regs (hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.)
