Level C Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Type: Full-time Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour Job Purpose The Level C Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of packaging and warehouse equipment at Quality Packaging. This includes horizontal form-fill-seal machines, shrink wrap tunnels, forklifts, stretch wrappers, and registered bundle wrappers, as well as handling general building and electrical maintenance. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, timely response to maintenance issues, and effective communication across various channels (phone, email, and in person).

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work with high-voltage systems, including 480V 3-phase motors.
  • Multi-disciplinary repair experience (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
  • Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Servo motors and drives, encoders, and equipment timing.
  • Basic understanding of PLC systems, sensors (photo eyes, proximity sensors), and logic software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Customer Service Orientation: Ability to communicate effectively with team members at all levels.
  • Flexibility: Ability to shift priorities and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-Motivation: Capable of working independently and taking initiative in troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to personal and team safety following company protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical certifications or trade school training preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant hands-on maintenance experience in a production or packaging environment.

  • Some college coursework is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, sweepers).
  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain and repair batteries and chargers.
  • Conduct minor welding, brazing, soldering, and fabrication tasks as required.
  • Address mechanical damage to warehouse infrastructure, including racking, flooring, and piping.
  • Interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders to perform scheduled maintenance and service tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Operate mechanical hand tools and measurement instruments (tape measures, micrometers, etc.).
  • Support production efficiency by ensuring minimal downtime through prompt maintenance actions.
  • Comply with OSHA safety standards and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
