About The Position

The Service Technician is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of electric forklifts and related material handling equipment to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability. This role supports Hangcha Forklift America’s service and customer satisfaction objectives by minimizing equipment downtime, delivering timely technical solutions, and providing professional support. The position requires close collaboration with customers, service management, engineering, and parts teams, fostering a professional, solutions-oriented service environment. Additionally, the role includes maintaining accurate service documentation, adhering to safety and regulatory standards, and staying current with evolving EV forklift technologies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the forklift service industry or automotive repair field
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with electric vehicles (EVs), electric forklifts, or similar electric equipment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including controllers, motors, batteries, and charging systems
  • Proven ability to independently diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues
  • Ability to perform remote diagnostics and technical support
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel within a 50-mile radius of the Greater Los Angeles area reliably
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work safely and follow all company and industry safety standards

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturer training or certifications related to forklifts, EVs, or material handling equipment
  • Experience servicing lithium-ion battery systems and advanced EV charging technologies
  • Previous experience with Hangcha or other major forklift brands
  • Familiarity with mobile service software, digital diagnostic tools, and electronic service documentation
  • Experience supporting fleet customers or high-usage industrial environments

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of electric (EV) forklifts and material handling equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems including motors, controllers, batteries, wiring, and charging systems
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance inspections to ensure equipment reliability and safety
  • Identify faulty components and perform repairs or replacements in accordance with manufacturer specifications
  • Respond to customer service calls and provide on-site technical support
  • Perform remote diagnostics and technical troubleshooting as required
  • Accurately document service activities, parts usage, and repair reports in a timely manner
  • Communicate findings, repair recommendations, and timelines clearly to customers and internal teams
  • Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Stay current with EV forklift technology, service bulletins, and technical training
