About The Position

The Service Support Center Lead provides Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (CCSD), also known as AFLCMC/HNC or HNC, life-cycle management for Information Assurance (IA) and other critical systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT related degree with 4 years experience OR Bachelor Degree with minimum 6 years of relevant experience
  • Networks proficiency in Cisco Network Routers and switches,
  • Advanced networking principles (routing, switching, OSI Reference Model)
  • Air Force network configuration and operation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory; Microsoft Server 2008, or higher; proficiency in VMWare 5.1or higher and vSphere Administration
  • Registered IAT Level II baseline certification: either CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, CND and SSCP (preferred Security+ CE certificate)
  • TS/SCI
  • Valid Counter Intelligence (CI) Polygraph in order to obtain NSA access and perform maintenance on NSA servers

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer having a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying inefficiencies, mapping current workflows, proposing improvements, and monitoring process performance.
  • Support the Government in facilitating continuous improvement sessions, such as retrospectives, planning events, and daily stand-ups, where applicable and align/tailor process improvement tools and methodologies with Government objectives and specific needs of each functional section.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of approximately 26 HNC-TO Mission Servers, supporting environments from unclassified to Top Secret. The majority of these servers operate within a VMWare Platform.
  • Install, configure, support, and maintain all designated servers. Responsibilities include scheduling and responding to service outages, performing routine and emergency maintenance, diagnosing and resolving software and hardware failures to ensure continuous system availability and operational readiness.
  • Provide system design and analysis in support of program and mission-specific server environments.
  • Maintain server efficiency by continuously monitoring system performance, enhancing system responsiveness, and managing disk space utilization
  • Ensure current patching requirements are met by performing Automated Service Interruptions (ASIs) in accordance with approved schedules and system availability requirements.
  • Maintain a robust and stable network environment by conducting regular system testing and preventive maintenance activities. All testing and maintenance efforts shall be documented and aligned with established configuration management and change control processes.
  • Implement and verify that all preventive security measures are operational and compliant with applicable cybersecurity policies and directives.
  • Provide the CSL office weekly audit reports from all mission servers maintained by HNC-TO and coordinate with the CSL office to resolve incidents or anomalies identified through system audits and event logs. All findings and corrective actions shall be documented and tracked in accordance with applicable security and incident response procedures.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to identify and resolve network component and configuration issues. Analyze problem areas, recommend corrective actions, and implement solutions to restore full network functionality IAW SDS.
