About The Position

This position involves completing work assignments and priorities by utilizing company policies, data, and resources, and collaborating with various business partners. The role requires identifying priorities, meeting deadlines, communicating progress, and adapting to feedback. Compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards is essential. The technician will perform basic to intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements on a variety of Walmart equipment, including trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, and service vehicles. This includes creating and processing work orders, assessing maintenance needs, identifying parts and solutions, and conducting repairs such as brake system component replacement, wheel seal replacement, and tire mounting/installation, all while adhering to company and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. Communication with customers, suppliers, and associates, along with accurate documentation, is also a key part of the role. Additionally, the technician is responsible for receiving fuel drops and conducting fuel sampling, ensuring safety compliance and proper documentation. Requirements

  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25.
  • Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19.

Responsibilities

  • Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Performs basic to intermediate inspections preventative maintenance repairs and replacements following company guidelines on all Walmart equipment for example trailers tractors yard trucks shop equipment service vehicles.
  • Creates and processes work orders, assesses maintenance repair and replacement needs, identifies needed parts and possible solutions, and selects the best possible solution.
  • Conducts maintenance repairs and replacements for example repairing and replacing brake system components such as air antiskid Scam ABS disc brakes replacing leaky wheel seals dismounting/installing tractor trailer tires following company and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines and requirements.
  • Communicates with individuals or groups for example customers suppliers associates verbally and in writing.
  • Completes work orders records logs and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.
  • Receives fuel drops and conducts fuel sampling by monitoring the drop to ensure safety compliance following procedures for fuel additives monitoring tank levels before and after the drop collecting and preparing fuel samples for analysis and shipping and completing appropriate paperwork.
