About The Position

The Service Sales Representative is responsible for quoting and selling solar service repair work to existing and prospective customers. This position plays a key role in driving non-install revenue, improving system performance for customers, and delivering a positive post-installation experience. This role requires strong communication skills, technical curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple service opportunities simultaneously.

Requirements

  • 1 or more years of sales, project management, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience considered.
  • Proficient in Google Suite/Google Workspace (Slides, Sheets, Calendar, Forms, Docs, Gmail) or related software (preferred).
  • Proficiency in CRM, ERP, and other related software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional and internal collaboration.
  • Ability to work tactfully and effectively with leaders in different departments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers by phone and email.
  • Able to work under pressure, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment with changing priorities.
  • Proactive and helpful demeanor.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, anticipate needs, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Detail oriented.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer (frequent).
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times (infrequent).
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute (frequent).
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

  • Experience in and knowledge of solar power (preferred).
  • Salesforce, NetSuite, and RF Smart experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively seek and solicit service sales opportunities from both existing and non-AES customers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during the service sales and pre-execution phase, providing proactive communication and updates.
  • Set clear expectations regarding scope, timelines, warranty coverage, costs, and execution dependencies.
  • Manage the service sales pipeline from initial inquiry through contract execution, maintaining visibility into status, priorities, and timelines.
  • Track project milestones related to service sales readiness and identify risks or gaps that could impact execution.
  • Maintain accurate records of service opportunities, proposals, contracts, and project details within company systems.
  • Partner closely with Service Case Coordinators, Service Technicians, and Operations to ensure a smooth handoff from sale to execution.
  • Clearly document and communicate scope, assumptions, constraints, and risks to internal teams to support accurate scheduling and execution.
  • Identify trends in service needs, recurring system issues, execution challenges, or customer feedback, and share insights with leadership.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
