About The Position

Murdock Hyundai of Logan is seeking a Service Porter to join their team in a fast-paced customer service environment. This full-time position involves various duties both inside and outside the Service Area, including assisting service advisors, managing inventory, and enhancing the guest experience. The role requires representing the Murdock Auto Team brand by delivering on their 'No Regrets' promise through enthusiastic service, guest interaction, and continuous innovation. The Service Porter will also receive training in basic service advisor job roles. The company offers competitive pay and a collaborative environment within a family-owned business.

Requirements

Must be able to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment
Must be a minimum of 18 years old
Authorized to work in the United States with a current driver's license
Must be able to read and comprehend employee handbooks and other automotive materials
Ability to learn quickly and take direction from dealership leaders
Proper operation of all vehicle types including commercial trucks
Customer service skills
Handling of jump-start units
Teamwork skills
Communication with managers
Basic problem solving skills
Adaptability to change

Nice To Haves

Experience in basic customer service skills preferred
Previous experience cleaning and detailing cars/trucks preferred

Responsibilities

Assist the service advisors throughout the day
Drop off and pick up customers
Move vehicles to the lot for technicians
Greet customers and help direct them to the correct person
Be trained in basic service advisor job roles
Communicate with the Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager, and Service Advisors to complete various guest-centered needs in the service area
Wash cars
Move guest's vehicles to the shop and around on the lot
Perform minor snow removal in winter from vehicles and walks
Prepare and clean vehicles when finished
Perform other basic needs around the dealership
Enthusiastically service customers and manage car wash lanes, treating each car with care
Drive vehicles through the automatic car washer
Wipe vehicles down and perform basic car wash tasks
Install floor mats and seat protectors in customer vehicles
Conduct quick checks on vehicles per customer comments
Conduct wheel alignment analysis for potential alignments
Perform other services as directed by the Service Advisors and/or managers
Follow checklists and company processes to complete operational directions from managers
Follow company policies for safe management of vehicle keys when moving inventory around the lot for presentation purposes
Drive vehicles carefully to fuel them, charge batteries, or move them to the Service department for other diagnosis and job completion reasons (as needed)
Complete basic tasks as directed by Service Manager or other Managers
Complete complimentary car washes
Provide maintenance in guest areas
Pick up trash in all areas inside and outside of the Showroom
Safely monitor activities on the Lot
Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different guest requests and other duties as assigned
