About The Position

The Cooper Standard Livonia, MI Manufacturing Plant is looking to hire a Service Parts Operator. The starting pay rate is $19.00 per hour. Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00AM - 4:30PM & Saturday 6:00AM - 2:00PM Position Summary: Fabricates service parts ensuring that the end product conforms to requirements identified on the work order, customer blueprint and/or specifications.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
2-4 years of relevant work experience
Fabrication, blueprint reading skills, and equipment knowledge
Ability to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis

Nice To Haves

Technical Training and Certification is preferred
Working knowledge of fabrication equipment preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude

Responsibilities

Works with Team Leader and Business Unit Managers to gain experience on all fabricating processes used to produce service parts.
Operate machinery in a safe, productive and quality manner ensuring parts are built to the manufacturing plans.
Maintains accurate records of all time and expenses incurred in the fabrication of each service order.
Performs required inspections of conformity according to our work instructions and BTO processes and immediately notifies Team Leader or Business Unit Managers of any concerns or discrepancies.
Processes orders and set up jobs with minimal supervision.
Must operate in a manner that reinforces, supports, and is consistent with the Cooper Standard Code of Conduct.
Ensures 6S, housekeeping and health and safety standards are maintained.
May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.
Understands the importance of quality and assists in the achievement and maintenance of TS 16949 certification.
Understands the importance of the environment and assists in the achievement and maintenance of ISO 14001 certification.
