About The Position

The primary focus of the Service Packer role is to support the Service Department and Materials team in meeting plant distribution goals while maintaining operational efficiency. This position is responsible for preparing and packaging parts for shipment, operating fork truck routes, and performing aftermarket picking, packing, and shipping activities, including expedited and UPS shipments for customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Prior experience operating fork trucks or other powered industrial vehicles; must successfully pass forklift certification and operate equipment safely upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts, lifting aids, and overhead hoists to run material routes, pick parts, and move assemblies from end-of-line to the Service/Pick-Pack area
  • Pick, pack, label, and ship parts to external customers; process expedited shipments and maintain required documentation
  • Review reports and shipping requirements to allocate parts accurately and meet delivery timelines
  • Communicate effectively with planners, customer service, shipping, carriers, and internal teams to coordinate shipments
  • Use systems such as FCS, Oracle, and WMS to ensure accurate pick/pack/ship transactions and inventory integrity; submit IT help tickets as needed
  • Work under tight timelines while maintaining 100% transactional accuracy
  • Complete forklift safety audits each shift and maintain safe, compliant equipment operation
  • Cross-train to cover absences, assist with onboarding and on-the-job training, and support team operations
  • Follow all safety, quality, and company policies; report safety concerns, unusual conditions, or defective materials
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, teamwork, standard work compliance, housekeeping, and 5S initiatives
  • Perform all duties in alignment with Eaton Quality (QS, ISO 9000, TS 16949, CQI-9) and Environmental (ISO 14000) systems
  • Work overtime as required, including weekends and holidays
