The Service Manager provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, ensuring that customer needs are met. This role involves supervising and coordinating the activities of employees across all job levels, or performing the work of those levels as needed. The manager is expected to maintain a positive attitude, foster a friendly and fun atmosphere through flexibility and teamwork, and set an example by encouraging employees to greet and assist customers promptly and courteously. Key responsibilities include exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions, learning customer names, and assisting with various shopping needs. The Service Manager also acts as a leader and role model, maintains positive employee relations, plans and adjusts work schedules, assigns duties, and ensures proper completion. They are involved in formulating pricing philosophies, ensuring store-wide customer service, evaluating employee performance for personnel actions, and training/enforcing safety procedures. Additional duties include compiling managerial data, ordering merchandise, training workers on policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, determining display locations, resolving employee problems, explaining store services to potential clients, and understanding basic store accounting.
