Requirements

  • Proven experience as an automotive service manager or similar role in a dealership environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive service and repair processes, including diagnostics, maintenance, and warranty work.
  • Proficiency in using dealership management software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the service department, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and efficient workflow.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of service advisors, technicians, and support staff to achieve performance targets and provide exceptional service.
  • Monitor service department performance, including productivity, profitability, and customer service metrics, and implement improvements as needed.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally, resolving issues promptly to ensure a positive experience.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring repeat business and loyalty to the dealership.
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to optimize service department efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, warranty policies, and safety regulations.
  • Manage parts inventory and work closely with the parts department to ensure the timely availability of necessary components.
  • Monitor service department financials, including budgeting, cost control, and profitability analysis.
