About The Position
The Service Line Nurse Manager oversees nursing operations and the assigned service line within surgical services, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. This role coordinates care across the patient journey, optimizes service efficiency, manages staff, and removes workflow barriers. Responsibilities include implementing nursing policies, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and AORN standards, and serving as a lead resource for the care team. The manager prepares and maintains service line resources, monitors daily workflows, and drives strategic initiatives to enhance performance. Leadership is guided by the AONL Nurse Leader Core Competencies, applying knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
- BSN required.
- Minimum of three years of surgical services nursing experience
- Experience as a staff nurse or charge nurse required
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license required.
- BLS required; ACLS as applicable to service line
- CNOR required within two years of hire.
- Knowledge of surgical services and service line operations
- Ability to lead teams and coordinate care across departments
- Familiarity with AORN standards and AONL Nurse Leader Core Competencies
- Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
