Join us in our mission to transform the power of diagnostics into a healthier future for all. The Role As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking an in-house Service Engineer. The in-house Associate Service Engineer will be a key technical expert on a team that will deliver certified rebuilt analyzers for use at our customer locations on a global basis. The engineer will participate in all aspects of production from inbound inspection through rebuild, testing and packaging. Will execute defined procedures and troubleshoot issues to ensure analyzers have the highest possible quality when they arrive at the customer location. Will continuously seek to learn and identify process improvements to achieve the highest possible quality and productivity targets. This position is in Rochester, NY.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Electronics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of related hands-on electronics, electrical or mechanical engineering experience.
  • Travel with Field Engineers up to 10% of the time for ongoing training.

  • Technical knowledge and be able to use that knowledge to effectively perform required job functions with an effective level of competence demonstrating a high degree of knowledge in electro-mechanical, chemistry, computer and/or other related disciplines.
  • Prior related military experience.
  • Team player that is self-motivated and interacts appropriately with peers, service counterparts and manufacturing.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to organize and express ideas clearly.
  • Ability to effectively manage assigned workload within allotted time constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify electromechanical equipment.
  • Repair and refresh electromechanical equipment following detailed processes as defined in standard work instructions and service procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair technical problems and systems issues.
  • Complete and approve Device History Record documents to maintain traceability and compliance.
  • Maintain all records in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
  • Report nonconformances, if observed, and assist with taking corrective actions.
  • Complete training to achieve required certifications and remain current with reoccurring training.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
