About The Position

We are looking for an entry-level Service Engineer to join our Marine Automation team. In this role, you will support our customers in troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning activities related to Valmet automation systems on board vessels. You'll work closely with senior engineers and gain hands-on experience both in the field and in our offices. Requirements

  • Recent graduate in Automation, Electrical, or related Engineering field (or equivalent education).
  • Basic understanding of automation systems (PLC, DCS, HMI).
  • Problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and eagerness to learn.
  • Good command of English (Italian is a plus).
  • Willingness to travel (up to 65% of working days), including onboard ships and international assignments
  • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to develop in a dynamic, international environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-oriented approach.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively and learn from experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Support customers in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Valmet automation systems (PLC, DCS, HMI).
  • Participate in commissioning, retrofits, and system upgrades on board vessels.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and internal teams to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.
  • Work on-site (onboard vessels) and in-office on the development and testing of automation applications.
  • Provide service support for major cruise operators and other marine customers.
