About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking a 3rd shift Service Desk Technician for one of our clients based out of Portland, Oregon. The Service Desk Technician is responsible for delivering a positive customer experience by professionally and efficiently handling incoming support requests. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and service desk issues, monitoring system alerts, and ensuring the integrity of operational systems. The technician will also participate in projects, perform system configuration tasks, and support testing of new software releases. Strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer support by answering calls and assisting with troubleshooting hardware and service desk issues.
  • Act as a backup operator to ensure system integrity.
  • Monitor error logs, system alerts, and communication networks; escalate issues according to established protocols.
  • Perform data entry into scheduling systems and validate accuracy.
  • Complete daily checklist tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Participate as a team member on assigned projects.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing for new software versions.
  • Execute system configuration requests as assigned.
  • Monitor processing errors, perform preliminary troubleshooting, and escalate when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work during high‑demand periods, including special event blackout dates.
