About The Position

This position plans, directs, and participates in the day-to-day operation, management, and maintenance of a small Salvation Army Service Center with limited social services and a Thrift Store operation.

Requirements

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations.
  • Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting or operating a vehicle.
  • Associates Degree in Business or related fieldand Three years successful experience working in a retail field where producing and sustaining profit is a requirement, with at least one year experience in a supervisory capacity, and ability to become proficient in the social services functions of the job within the first 90 days of employmentor any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid state driver license.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits and manages a limited staff and volunteer team.
  • Prepares bookkeeping, sales, statistics, and payroll records.
  • Participates in screening and providing services to clients.
  • Represents The Salvation Army in the community.
  • Monitors the receipt and processing of Thrift Store donations.
  • Ensures merchandise is properly priced and rotated in order to maximize store sales.
