About The Position

Sterling KIA of Lafayette, LA is seeking a Service Department Cashier to join our team! As a Service and Parts Cashier, you will be the final point of contact for customers during their service experience. You’ll process payments, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain a professional and welcoming environment. This is a versatile position that is cross trained to assist the Service and Parts Departments with the completion of various daily tasks.

Requirements

  • Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred, ideally in an automotive or retail environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in basic math and handling monetary transactions
  • Familiarity with dealership management systems (preferred but not required; training provided).
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must be willing to submit to pre-employment background check & drug screen
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and be at least 18 years of age

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Process payments accurately, including cash, credit card, and check transactions
  • Provide clear explanations of invoices and services performed
  • Answer customer inquiries or direct them to the appropriate department
  • Maintain and balance cash drawer and receipts
  • Answer and direct calls appropriately using a multi-line phone system
  • Serve as a backup for our main receptionist as needed
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and appointment scheduling
  • Collaborate with service advisors, technicians, and other team members to ensure smooth operations
  • Uphold dealership standards for customer service and professionalism
