About The Position

Whaling City Ford is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team in New London, CT. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between customers and our service department, ensuring a smooth repair and maintenance experience while delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, a passion for the automotive industry, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional automotive training or certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience in automotive service advising or a customer service role preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient with computer systems and software related to service departments.
  • A passion for cars and automotive service is highly desirable.
  • Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Excel and Word (and preferably dual-screen experience)
  • Strong customer service background
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Punctual, reliable and eager to improve
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and courteously, understanding their vehicle service needs.
  • Write repair orders and communicate service options, costs, and timelines clearly to customers.
  • Coordinate with technicians to provide accurate and timely updates on vehicle status.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, vehicle repairs, and service history.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and build long-term relationships.
  • Assist in managing service appointments and workload to optimize workflow.
  • Promote additional services and products to enhance customer experience and service department profitability.
  • Schedule service appointments and speak with customers every single day by following up over the phone after each appointment
  • Actively listen to customers, answering their questions, and directing them appropriately as they request
  • Respond quickly to customer phone calls, internet leads through online scheduling, and live chat inquiries
  • Advise maintenance recommendations
  • Confirm scheduled and missed appointments
