The Service Advisor serves as a welcoming point of contact for members, delivering accurate and efficient transactions while providing outstanding service. This position processes routine financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance. Beyond transactions, the role involves actively listening to members, identifying opportunities to connect them with relevant credit union products and services, and directing them to a Relationship Advisor for more in-depth financial assistance.

Requirements

  • One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to type, use computer, credit union software, and general office equipment including 10-key calculator.
  • Requires basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; transfer amounts from member accounts as directed.
  • Post transactions accurately to member accounts and maintain confidentiality of member information.
  • Review member accounts to refer credit union products and services that will benefit the member; complete cross-sales.
  • Assist with reconciling daily transactions ensuring cash, checks, vouchers, and recyclers match system records.
  • Assist with cash recyclers and the vault as needed.
  • Welcome members and provide routine information concerning credit union services; direct members to appropriate departments for specific information.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory programs including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Office of Foreign Asset Control Program, and Customer Identification Program.
  • Assist other department personnel and perform other duties as assigned.
