About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Service Accounting Specialist to join our remote finance team. In this role, you will support service-related accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, billing, and revenue recognition. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain financial integrity and support business decision-making. Important Requirement: Applicants must currently reside in the United States and possess a valid U.S. work authorization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in service-based or SaaS environments
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or NetSuite)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Must reside within the United States
  • Must have valid U.S. work authorization (citizen, permanent resident, or authorized work visa)
  • Ability to work remotely with a stable internet connection and secure workspace

  • CPA or progress toward certification

Responsibilities

  • Manage service-related accounting activities, including billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition.
  • Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in compliance with GAAP.
  • Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Oversee service billing cycles and ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Monitor revenue streams and ensure proper allocation and reporting.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining billing systems and processes.
  • Prepare financial reports related to service operations.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support business performance.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation and audit trails.
  • Support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Work closely with finance, operations, and customer success teams.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Assist with system enhancements and automation initiatives.
