About The Position

The Server is the main point of contact with guest interaction. The Server maintains the attitude and energy of bistro service while cultivating a fine dining experience with exceptional food and beverage knowledge. Passion for hospitality and food leads their ability to navigate guest interaction and service with grace.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of restaurant or related experience (preferred).
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to use all relevant items of equipment
  • Understanding, knowledge, and ability to comply with safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
  • Ability to prioritize work activities, provide accurate information and assistance to any management or colleagues' request in a timely and courteous manner
  • Ability to use the restaurant point of sale system
  • Ability to keep calm when faced with any unusual situations
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Knows basic math and measurements
  • Able to enter guest orders in Point of Sale - "POS"

  • Must understand how to abide by the rules of the Department of Health related to Food Service and Employee + Guest Safety

Responsibilities

  • Report for duty on time and ensure you use the time clock to check in and out.
  • Manage your time, including taking rest and meal breaks in compliance with Nevada Labor Law.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance and hygiene that include clean clothes, nails, and hair, and no heavy perfumes/colognes in addition to uniform standards.
  • Knowledge of all dishes on the menu, to be able to identify them and to know their ingredients, wine, and bar menu.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, alcohol control, and sanitation protocols
  • Organize, clean, and maintain all server stations
  • Clearly communicate with all service staff and management throughout your shift to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Attend to guest needs throughout the dining room; coursing food orders and sending through the PO.S
  • Run food, drinks, and bus tables in your section throughout service
  • Complete all assigned side work pre- and post-shift
  • Attend trainings and pre-shift meetings
  • Responsible for in-depth knowledge of the cocktail menu and wine list, assisting guests with ingredient knowledge, pairings, coffee/tea program, etc.
  • Responsible for in-depth knowledge of food menu and ingredients in each dish, vendors and farmers, etc.
  • Responsible for communicating all guest allergies with a manager. See SOP.
  • Fully understand the floor plan, table numbers, and seat positions for the entire venue.
  • Supporting the management team in all aspects of in-house service and events
  • Always suggests alternatives to enhance the guest's food experience.
  • Prepare the floor at the opening and closing of each shift; stocking, cleaning, and preparing for service.
  • Communicate clearly with the expo and managers to support with service
  • Smile and maintain eye contact with our guests, and always provide prompt, attentive service.
  • Greet/Thank all customers as they enter/exit the space.
  • Assist others with stations when needed.
  • Play barista: knowledge of drip vs espresso.
  • Respond to any menu/drinks queries with knowledgeable answers.
  • Have a thorough understanding of all menu items and overall aesthetics.
  • Address any service issues through your floor manager and communicate any unresolved issues to them at the end of your shift.
  • Supporting the management team in all aspects of in-house service and events
  • Understand the right of way (guests, floor, kitchen, bar, and staff)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
