About The Position

The Dillard House Farm Resort is a new addition to the Legacy Ventures Restaurants portfolio and will be an exciting adventure as we build on what the Dillard family has developed since 1917. This one-of-a-kind property is nestled in the picturesque Tennessee River Valley within a two-hour drive north of Atlanta in Rabun County. The F&B Team will support the Main Dining Room, New Brewery, Rock House Restaurant, and all Banquet Culinary needs. It will represent tradition with authentically sourced cuisine, numerous outdoor activities and outstanding southern charm and hospitality. Requirements

  • Customer Service: Servers must consistently be able to assess, anticipate and meet guests’ needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from guests’ dining experience. This requires practical knowledge of industry customer service standards.
  • Communication: Servers must clearly communicate in a professional manner with guests, vendors, coworkers and management. They must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction.
  • Interpersonal Relationships: A server must adapt to different personalities of guests and coworkers without losing focus. Extreme familiarity or conflicts with coworkers often weaken a team-oriented work environment.
  • Sales Techniques and Customer Influence: Must understand products and services and understand customer needs clearly. Must gain experience and become current in state-of-the-art sales methods. Must meet sales goals.
  • Performing General Physical Activities: Servers must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling of materials. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to carry trays filled with multiple dishes and drinks.
  • Problem Solving and Conflict Management: Must recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure.
  • Analytical Skills: Must use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for a successful outcome. Must verify information by compiling, coding and calculating data.
  • Technical Skills: Must know or quickly learn general accounting and mathematical skills. Must correctly operate various mechanical devices such as cash registers, mixers and hot beverage makers.
  • Language Skills: Must speak and write with excellent command of the English language including proper spelling and grammar.
  • Flexibility: Must work overtime when needed and assist the workload of others.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tables for meals, including the complete set up of linens, silverware and glassware.
  • Perform opening and closing side work according to standards to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.
  • Perform light food preparation duties including bread, salad preparation, appetizers and desert presentation.
  • Understand and follow brand and other standard steps of service and other guidelines to ensure customers are attended to properly and all food and beverage items comply with quality and presentation guidelines.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition to effectively communicate with guests, team members and community.
  • Greet guests in a professional manner and provide education about the food and beverage menus, how menu items are prepared, the ingredients used and the different cooking methods.
  • Inform guests of daily specials.
  • Check food and beverages for quality and presentation before serving to guest.
  • Prepare and serve specialty dishes tableside as required.
  • Check identification to ensure that guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Provide wine recommendations to customers.
  • Deliver wine to table with appropriate glasses and use proper corkage and pouring techniques.
  • Receive guest payments and process transactions.
  • Clear and clean tables promptly according to proper sanitation standards.
  • Promptly serve guests with all food and beverage requirements in a warm, friendly, courteous and professional manner.
  • Ensure that the work area and front of house areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Follow check ringing procedures precisely.
  • Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S. system.
  • Carry out cashiering functions in closing checks and servicing the guest.
  • Follow established cash handling procedures.
  • Follow state liquor laws and prescribed procedures in serving liquor with care to avoid problems with intoxicated guests.
  • Attend meetings as required by management.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and ability to work days, evenings or nights any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy environment and remain flexible
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
