About The Position

Mav·er·ick: Someone who plays by their own rules. /'mav(?)rik/ (noun) The Steakhouse Server provides exceptional dining experiences to guests by offering knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient service. This role is responsible for greeting and seating guests, guiding guests through the menu and specials, taking and delivering orders accurately, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction in a fine dining steakhouse environment. Servers must maintain a high standard of professionalism and hospitality at all times. Pre-bus and cleans tables after completion of each course and resets tables for service. Housing options available after 90 days

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Minimum of 1–2 years of serving experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or steakhouse preferred.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and multitasking skills.
Upbeat and positive personality, Patient and warm demeanor.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Quick learner.
Ability to carry trays with food or dishes that can weigh 10 to 20 pounds and carry it with one hand in the upright position, balanced on one shoulder for approximately 20 to 30 feet.
The ability to memorize daily specials and answer questions concerning casino promotions.
Must be professional in appearance and demeanor, and Maintain a clean uniform.
Must be punctual and reliable attendance.
Must be available to work special events, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Must adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. (up to 10 hours).
Must be able to pass a class for Safe Serve Food Handler’s card.
Ability to write and speak fluent English.
Basic math and POS system proficiency required.
Legible handwriting.

Nice To Haves

Strong knowledge of steak cuts, preparation methods, and wine pairings is a plus.

Responsibilities

Greet guests promptly and warmly (Smile, eye contact and positive body language), ensuring a welcoming and attentive dining experience.
Present menus, describe specials, and answer questions about food, beverages, and wine pairings.
Up-sell food and beverage items using suggestive selling techniques.
Describe in detail the tastes and texture of menu items.
Communicate with kitchen and co-workers regarding length of wait, re-cook orders and any food allergies or dietary needs.
Take accurate food and beverage orders using a point-of-sale (POS) system, in a timely manner.
Serving and prebussing the tables in a timely manner.
Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal and anticipate guest needs.
Assists the food runner to deliver food and beverages in a timely manner while ensuring proper presentation and temperature.
Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by assignment.
Sincerely thanking all guests and welcoming them back.
Take customers orders for food and beverage.
Serve food and beverage in a cheerful, efficient manner and in accordance with our standards.
Clear and reset tables efficiently between courses and after guests depart.
Maintain customer service standards applicable in the restaurant.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, side stations, and dining room.
Maintain strict confidence regarding company related matters.
Comply with company, department and governing agency policies and procedures.
Handle payment transactions accurately and responsibly.
Responsible for clocking in and out on time according to work schedule.
Responsible for maintaining the personal hygiene standards set down by the Food and Beverage Director.
Responsible for keeping work station and floor stations as clean as possible at all times.
