Maintains a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty. Works in a manner that promotes a safe and sanitary environment for staff, residents and visitors; makes efforts to reduce safety hazards, accidents, and injuries. Makes an active contribution towards improving community relations, increasing public regard and overall awareness of the independent living and/or assisted living community. Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality. Folds dining room linens and prepares tables. Remains informed about work hours and schedules, arrives on time and works to end of shift so that other staff members are able to work efficiently and effectively. Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service. Remains knowledgeable about posted daily specials and is prepared to inform diners of such specials and is able to answer questions concerning specials. Writes order on check and enters all other required information to ensure that food records and billings are complete and correct. Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars. Paces course delivery and sequence according to established procedures so that residents receive food at the proper temperature and are able to enjoy each course in a relaxed manner. Garnishes and decorates dishes prior to serving. Notifies Dining Room Manager and/or Food Service Director of any customer complaints so that the complaints can be handled immediately.
