About The Position

Solete, located inside the Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront, is seeking energetic, service-driven Servers to join our team. As a Server, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences while supporting a fast-paced, team-oriented restaurant environment. If you enjoy engaging with guests, staying active, and creating memorable experiences, this is an opportunity to grow within a hospitality-driven organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous restaurant or hotel experience preferred but not required
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays
  • Must be available 3 PM – 11 PM shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Previous experience as a server in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
  • Passion for providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order taking, serving, and handling transactions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry trays of food and beverages.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, professional service throughout their dining experience
  • Anticipate guest needs and ensure a positive and memorable visit
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of menu offerings, cocktails, beer, wine, and specials
  • Make recommendations based on guest preferences
  • Deliver food and beverages efficiently and accurately
  • Utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance guest experience and increase sales
  • Monitor table maintenance, cleanliness, and overall dining room organization
  • Process cash and credit card payments accurately
  • Follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • Adhere to all alcohol service laws and regulations
  • Verify guest identification to ensure legal drinking age
  • Refuse alcohol service professionally when required
  • Monitor alcohol consumption and use judgment in preventing over-service
  • Offer alternatives such as water or transportation assistance when necessary
  • Gain TIP certification within 3 months of hire
  • Participate in periodic pour tests to ensure accuracy
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
