About The Position

Il Fornaio Cucina Italiana is hiring knowledgeable, experienced, service-oriented dining room Servers for a part time position. Experience in a full-service restaurant is needed. As a server, you'll wow our guests with outstanding service and hospitality. RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certificated required for CA locations. Food handler Card required. What we're looking for: Applicants must be available to work through the Fall and Winter seasons Applicants willing to begin as a food runner before being promoted to a server Must be available for a minimum of 2 lunch shifts with 1 day being a weekday Must be available all weekends and holidays

Requirements

Excellent communication, hospitality, interpersonal and math skills
Skilled at reading the table and can anticipate your guests' needs
Team player; you're always willing to give and ask for help
At least 1 year of experience as a server in an upscale full-service restaurant
Ability to make guest recommendations through knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, beer and a la carte food service
Having a flexible work schedule including weekend availability
Able to lift up to 35 lbs., and continuously bend, reach and twist; you're constantly on the move!
RBS Certified or within 60 days of date of hire
Food Handlers Card or within 30 days from date of hire

Responsibilities

Serving full menu and bar including wine and specialty cocktails.
Communicating orders clearly with the bar staff and kitchen
Have knowledge of Italian and California wines
Continuous table maintenance
Delivering drinks and food correctly and efficiently Closing out checks and reconciling cash in a timely fashion
Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines Maintaining a positive teamwork attitude
Communicating clearly, professionally, and respectfully Monitoring guest satisfaction
