About The Position

The MCR standard is to provide clean, friendly, well-organized and safe hotels for our guests, with a focus on Happy Guests, Spotless Cleanliness, Product Consistency & Quality, and Teamwork. The Server is responsible for providing prompt, friendly, and accurate food service to guests. This includes taking food and beverage orders, serving food items, and completing payment for guest orders.

Requirements

  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions, assigned tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Always provide friendly service with a smile to guests.
  • Flexible schedule with availability days, nights, holidays, and weekend based on the demands of the hotel.
  • Must arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed by your immediate manager.
  • Never work while clocked out.
  • Must clock in/out for breaks at the designated time on your schedule.
  • Must provide sufficient notice as directed by your supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate with others effectively using the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile.
  • Use the guests’ names whenever possible, ensuring they feel properly welcomed.
  • Contribute to great guest satisfaction scores.
  • Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of all features of the hotel facility and amenities.
  • Maintain awareness and support for all groups and events at the hotel.
  • Understand relevant technology for each role.
  • Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.
  • Keep all areas, both front and back of the house, clean and well-organized.
  • Pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed, to ensure the hotel is well-organized and safe.
  • Greet every guest happily with a smile, by name if possible, while cleaning.
  • Complete all operational checklists accurately and at the designated times, every shift.
  • Ensure handover reports are accurate and on time, for effective shift-to-shift communication.
  • Wear a clean, approved uniform and be well-groomed per the Team Member Handbook, while wearing a nametag and smiling at all times.
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with Team Members.
  • Be willing to stretch beyond traditional role to meet the needs of the business and MCR’s guests.
  • Work together with all Team Members at all levels to create a welcoming environment for guests and an effective, positive workplace.
  • Greet guests and give a clear and correct description of food and beverage options.
  • Deliver hot to order items from kitchen to tables.
  • Input orders into computer and secure accurate payment.
  • Prepare coffee as well as other specialized drinks.
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables for dining as needed.
  • Observe diners and respond to requests.
  • Complete daily inventory prep sheet and other side work allowable by labor rules.
  • Maintain knowledge and familiarity of current food and beverage offerings.
  • Escort guests to tables as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and handling policies and procedures, i.e., product rotation, dating, labeling, and cleaning.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and surrounding areas.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hours and available amenities of the hotel.
