About The Position

The Banquets Server is responsible for preparing and maintaining banquet setups, including coffee breaks, carts, and stations with food and beverages according to Banquet Event Orders. Key duties involve setting up tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, and dessert/cordial carts, communicating guest requirements like allergies to the kitchen, and ensuring timely clearing and crumbing of tables. The role also involves monitoring and replenishing buffet items to maintain presentation quality, ensuring tableware is presentable, and maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned service areas. The server is expected to bus tables, separating different types of tableware. Beyond operational tasks, the position requires adherence to company safety and security policies, reporting unsafe conditions, and completing safety training. Professional appearance, confidentiality, and asset protection are crucial. The server must welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate their needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and communicate professionally. Requirements

  • Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print)
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping

  • Less than 1 year related work experience
  • No supervisory experience
  • No specific license or certification

Responsibilities

  • Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations with appropriate food and beverages as stated in Banquet Event Order
  • Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts and cordial carts
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
  • Ensure courses are cleared and tables are properly crumbed
  • Respond to and try to fulfill any special banquet event arrangements
  • Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation
  • Monitor tableware to ensure it is presentable to guests
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas
  • Bus tables by removing and separating tableware, plateware, glassware, and flatware
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
  • Complete safety training and certifications
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Protect company assets
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs
  • Assist individuals with disabilities
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation
