About The Position

Primary Purpose of Job: The Server Assistant(busser)is responsible for ensuring that members are receiving the best service throughout their dining experience. To achieve this, bussers must make sure that all areas of responsibility are being fulfilled to the utmost of their ability. This includes working as a team with co-workers and maintaining facilities and services at the highest quality level for the enjoyment of members and their guests.

Requirements

Availability to work varying schedules including weekends and holidays to reflect the business needs of the dining floor and event.

Responsibilities

Serve water as guests are seated.
Serve rolls or other bread as guests are seated.
Assist in carrying food trays to and from tables.
Assist servers in their tasks of serving members. Remove dirty dishes from tables using proper serving techniques and bring to dish washing area.
Break down trays in the dish area as they are brought back from the floor. Place silverware in soaking bins, glassware in appropriate racks, and stack like dishes together, and place linen and trash in appropriate locations.
Remove dirty linen and/or placemats from table and replace with clean items.
Set tables with silverware, glassware, china, and clean linen or placemat, as required by reservations.
Keeps ice bins filled.
Assist servers and expediters in their major responsibilities to ensure that membership is being served efficiently.
Assist as needed to set up or break down buffets or food stations.
Assist in turnovers (from one event to another) and setups for functions.
Complete opening and closing side work as assigned.
Maintain cleanliness in work area both inside the kitchen and on the floor.
Work as a contributing player to the Team with a positive attitude and a genuine SMILE.
Maintain a neat, professional appearance with proper nametags and uniform throughout each shift.
Use member and guest names on a consistent basis to provide an environment of comfort and “home” to members, guests, and their families.
Anticipate members and guest needs in order to provide “proactive service at all times.”
Assists in setting up for large parties or events.
