About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno seeks a Server and Cloud Administrator supports and optimizes the University’s on-premises and cloud infrastructure to ensure the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of enterprise storage, virtualization, and collaboration systems. This role is responsible for administering physical and virtual servers, storage platforms, and cloud-based collaboration tools, including Box, OneDrive, and SharePoint. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Server and Cloud Administrator contributes to system design, deployment, maintenance, automation, and documentation while implementing best practices that align with institutional standards and security requirements. The position performs technical administration duties under moderate supervision and collaborates with infrastructure, operations, and application teams on cross-functional projects that support the University’s technology environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and four (4) years of related work experience OR Associate’s Degree and three (3) years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience OR Master’s Degree one(1) year of related work experience
  • Related Experience: IT experience in an enterprise or university environment or data environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Box, and SharePoint environments.
  • Familiarity with Power Automate, PowerShell, and GraphAPI automation.
  • Understanding of Azure AD, hybrid identity management, and security compliance (FERPA, HIPAA, NIST).
  • Cloud migration, integration, or large-scale project experience.
  • Proven success collaborating with cross-functional IT and research teams.
